I love Opossums,I feel sorry for them ...Nice story! I love Opossums,I feel sorry for them when they get hit by Cars because if they have babies in their pouch most people don't stop to check and the babies die :( I wouldn't worry about Opossums carrying rabies,they not typical mammals,they are marsupials and have lower body temperature than mammals so they don't harbour Rabies like mammals do,The only time Opossums are at risk from rabies is if they are sick with a raised body temperature and are bitten by a rabid animal,which is highly unlikely since Opossums play dead when threatened and give off an awful smell which animals won't go near,so it's very very unlikely an Opossum will be rabid.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
