Picture This: A Month of Realness (Day 8)

Who doesn't love a muffaletta... stuffed pizza? I got this recipe from Rachel Ray. Yes Kathy Carano.. I can hear you groaning from here! LOL But really, she had me at "muffaletta"!!
It's all the traditional muffaletta fillings... salami, ham, cheeses, olive salad... nestled in between two pizza crusts. And baked up to a warm, melty, yummy goodness.
Not having a pizza pan. (HOW does someone get to be the mother of two teens and not own a pizza pan??? Dunno) I had to use a regular baking sheet.
But the man of the house and I both give it a big "Thumbs Up".
Laissez les bons temps rouler!!

Picture This: A Month of Realness (Day 7)

Saturday January 29, 2011
Yes. Believe your eyes. As unbelievable as it is. That is my two offsrping. And the male is actually HUGGING his sister!
We took the family to Biltmore Estate for the day. Chris and I gave ourselves 12 Month Passes for Christmas. And we used a guest pass to take the female offspring. Since the boy is under 16, he gets in free when he goes with us.
The weather was beautiful for the end of January. Sunny skies and in the mid 50s. And it was a nice way to spend a Saturday with the family.

I love my nook. And I love the beautiful purple cover the man of the house gave me for Christmas!
I love being about to walk around with who-knows-how-many books in my hand in one convenient little package. An huge library at my fingertips.
Don't get me wrong. I will always love paper books more. The weight of the book in my hand, the little thrill of opening the book for the first time and feeling the spine give. I enjoy the entire experience of reading a "real" book.
But I have to admit that this little contraption has certainly turned my head!

January 27, 2011
The male off spring had an orchestra concert this evening. Dressed in his snazzy (do people say snazzy anymore?) new black pants and dress shirt, he required our attendance at the middle school for an evening of 7 through 12 graders showing off thier skills.

Picture This: A Month Of Realness (Disclaimer)

"Real" meas real life. Which means that occassionally I get behind. Things happen. That explains the lack of a photo a day for 3 days. I will rectify that today by catching up. Rest assured that although not posted in a timely manner, all photos were taken on the correct days. ;)

Pick a color for my toes...

One of the views I get to enjoy on my drive to work. The Blue Ridge Mountains, with a layer of fog and clouds on the morning this picture was taken.

Picture This: A Month of Realness (Day Two)

I love coffee. I look forward to that first cup in the morning. I enjoy treating myself to a Starbucks when I am out running errands. But there is really something about the afternoon cup of coffee. Sitting down toward the end of a busy day and taking the time to sip and enjoy it. Not having to drink it while running around getting ready for work or getting the male offspring off to school. Just sipping and savoring . It's one of those little nice things in life.

Picture This: A Month of Realness (Day One)

It's a beef stew kind of day. Cold and clear outside. NFL playoff games about to start. Beef has been dredged and browned. Veggies are cut. Stew is slow cooking away. Biscuits to come later. Yep... it's just that kind of day.

A Picture A Day

I've been doing a "Picture a Day" thing on my facebook account. A few of my friends are doing this. One picture a day, every day, for one year. I'm going to try the same thing here. But just for a month. What to call it...

A Month of Pictures...?

Picturing A Month...?

A Month in the Life of a Real Housewife...?

Hmmm.... decisions, decisions...

Here's an idea...

I wonder if Bath & Body Works has ever considered pairing His and Hers fragrances. Not the same scent, but complimentary. For him, maybe a cedar or sandalwood based scent. Something like that. For her, a companion scent such as a citrus or floral. Each one good alone, but when put together... even better!

Might make a good Valentine's promotional thing...

Oh, my aching head

It started earlier today. A nagging dull ache behind my eyes. No big deal. But as I went to pick the husband up from work this evening it raged to life. In a very short time it went from dull ache to full blown insane headache. I feel pretty sure at this point that my entire brain has moved up and is pressing behind my forehead, trying to escape my skull. And now the tightness at the back of the neck and shoulders starts...

I do not think tonight is going to be a good night.
