Three Things: I WIll Never Do

You know the old saying right?  About never saying never.  (if you're not familiar - that's about it... "Never say never")

And there are some things that is very true about.  In parenting for example.  NEVER day "I will never let my kids..."  or "As a mother I will never..."  Because sure as the sun rises - you'll find yourself doing it at some point!

However, there are a few things I feel pretty confident saying "Never" about.  For example:

1) I will NEVER willingly jump out of an airplane.  Never.  If you ever hear that I did jump out of an airplane, you can be pretty sure that plane was going down at the time and that was my only possible chance of survival.

2) I will NEVER own a pet spider.  Just won't.  Don't like spiders.  They creep me out with their long skinny legs and they way they lurk in corners, watching and waiting.   We've had too many of the nasty things in our house recently.  BIG ones.  No way I would ever invite one in to live!  Ugh... I'm feeling all creepy crawly just thinking about spiders.  I mean, if you have a pet spider - that's great.  For you.  It's just that I hope you'll understand if I turn down any invitations to visit you.

3)  I will NEVER stop reading.  If something ever happens to my eyesight, I'll resort to audio books. But I can never give up reading.  It's just too much of who I am!

And Scarier Still...

I don't know what it is with all the spiders around here recently, but I am starting to get more than a little paranoid about it.

Especially when I have this thing living on my back porch:

It is HUGE! And the web stretches literally all the way across the porch.

I feel pretty sure it's ultimate goal is to catch one of us.

And it seems to get bigger with each passing day.

Something Even Scarier

Last week I shared about my new found appreciation fear of teeny tiny little spiders.

I have found something possibly even scarier...

Shower spiders.

Ok, ours are not that big - but still...

Those spiders (which always seem to have the longest, creepiest, skinny legs ever) that manage to hide themselves in the corner of the shower.  Not revealing themselves until you are in full suds condition.  It sits there in the upper corner of the shower - watching you - as if just waiting the right moment to pounce up on you in your weak, helpless showering state.

Ugh...

Itsy Bitsy... Whatever!

I have finally found the one thing scarier than a big ol' hairy spider!
A teeny, tiny, so small you can barely see it spider!

Scarier...
because you can see a big spider coming.  You know it's there and can prepare for it
(or at least scream and run away while someone else takes care of it.)

A little bitty teeny spider?

You don't see it.  Until it's right there.
On! Your! Hand!
Crawling around like it owns the place.

And THAT is scary!!
