Marching Into A New Look

March is almost here.  And with it - a new look is coming to the blog.  As my seasons of life have shifted and changed - the blog has stayed mostly the same.  But now, it's time to spring into a new look.

Starting on Friday (March 1) you'll be seeing changes to the blog - starting with the name.  "My Really Real Reality" is becoming "Making the Most of Midlife".

Much of the content will remain the same -because that's what I like to write about. I'll still be sharing inspirational quotes, and sharing what I am grateful for each week through my Thankful Thursday posts.  However, I feel that the new name better expresses who I am and what my focus is at this point in my life. I just felt like things needed a bit of an update and a refresh.

The URL will probably be changing in the coming weeks - but I'll give everyone a heads-up before that change happens so you can adjust accordingly.

I hope you'll stick with me as these changes occur.  And that you'll continue to enjoy what I have to share through my posts.

Thank you for being here!

The Rest of Your Life

What's the old saying?  "Today is the first day of the rest of your life".  Or something pretty much like that.

Cliché, right?  Yep.  But... I'm feeling all those vibes today.  No matter how much of a cliché it may be - today IS the first day off the rest of your life.

What do I want the second half of my life to look like?  Healthier.  Happier (even happier than it already is).  Travel.  Success in my business.  Full of all the abundance that God promises.  In three little words -  The.  Good.  Life.

That's what I want for myself.  All of that and more.  So much more.  Because today IS the first day of the rest of my life.

Now that I have those intentions set, the next step is to decide what steps I am going to take to get there.  Not an easy task.  But so very important.  Because there is another saying "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."

What do you want the rest of your life to look like? And what do you need to do to get there?

Three Things That Need to Change

Sometimes when something just isn't working for you any longer - it's time to make a change.  A lot of times that is easier said than done.  Here are three things I know I need to change:

1)  Sleep
Every evening I tell myself I am going to go to bed earlier than usual.  And every night, that doesn't seem to happen.  Then, every morning I get up very early.  Every day, I am tired by the middle of the afternoon (at the latest)

2) The Junk I Consume
http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/view-image.php?image=43198&picture=french-fries
I know I need to eat better.  My cholesterol numbers show that.  The scale shows that.  My doctor has told me that.  Scripture says that our bodies are temples where the Holy Spirit resides.  Would I fill a temple with garbage?  Um.... no.

3)  Water
I need to increase the amount of water I drink.  By a lot.  Some days it gets to be very late in the afternoon and I realize I have had nothing to drink since my morning coffee. Seriously - how am I not thirsty ALL. THE. Time?

Is there something you know you need to change?

A Spirit of Changing Gratitude

My series "A Spirit of Gratitude" is making some changes for 2015.

It's moving from Thursday to Monday.  (Don't worry Thankful Thursday linkups, I'll still be dropping by to share)  I felt it would put the week off to a good start by looking at the week past and all the blessings it held.  Putting the mind and heart into a good place for the one ahead.

I also hope to expand on the gratitude list by adding a few more thoughts, at least from time to time.

The name might also be changing - that's still in the "thinking it over" pre-planning stage.  We'll see what, if anything, happens with that.

There are also more bloggy type plans in the works: The return of some old favorites.  Some new features and series.  And anything else that might happen along the way!
