Monday Musings: What's Next?

If I'm honest, I feel as if this blog lost its sense of direction and identity somewhere along the way.  It started at a place of transition and change in my life and along the way, it's had a difficult time keeping up and has just been meandering for a while now.

As this year winds down and the new one begins soon, I have a goal to bring the blog up to speed with my life.  I guess you could say that it's time for a blog makeover.  Not so much a "new year, new you", but more like "new year, more you".

As a result, I will be focusing more on life as a middle-aged woman.  The things that matter to women in our (my) age group.  Health and wellness (keep an eye out for more menopause-related posts!), faith, family (with grown children and grandkids), resources for midlife, etc.

I'll also be dropping a few polls on my Instagram in the coming weeks to find out what YOU would like to read more of on the blog.  So, stay tuned for that.

I've got my guys home this week, so I'm relaxing and not setting any big goals for myself.  Those can wait for next week when we're starting 2022.

The Rest of Your Life

What's the old saying?  "Today is the first day of the rest of your life".  Or something pretty much like that.

Cliché, right?  Yep.  But... I'm feeling all those vibes today.  No matter how much of a cliché it may be - today IS the first day off the rest of your life.

What do I want the second half of my life to look like?  Healthier.  Happier (even happier than it already is).  Travel.  Success in my business.  Full of all the abundance that God promises.  In three little words -  The.  Good.  Life.

That's what I want for myself.  All of that and more.  So much more.  Because today IS the first day of the rest of my life.

Now that I have those intentions set, the next step is to decide what steps I am going to take to get there.  Not an easy task.  But so very important.  Because there is another saying "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."

What do you want the rest of your life to look like? And what do you need to do to get there?

Currently... Some Changes

It's time for some change, y'all!  I'm going to be turning my Currently posts into a twice-a-month thing.  Doing it every week, things can get a little redundant.  And redundant = boring. So from now on the post will be appearing on the first Monday of each month, and the Monday right about the middle of the month.  I'm hoping this will keep things a little fresher.  (fresher?  more fresh? *shrugs*)

In other news...

  • The last installments about my trip to New York will be coming up later this week and/or the first of next week.  Be warned... they will be picture heavy!
  • I've got some changes coming to the look of the blog also.  It's time to update the "About" page, and give the overall appearance a little update.
  • I'm anticipating being able to share some big news with y'all soon.  Another trip might be in the works.  Even bigger than New York!  Updates will be available as soon as I have some concrete information to share.

I would love to know what each of YOU would like to see more (or less) of on the blog.  Do you have questions for me?  A topic you would like to see me post about in the future?  PLEASE share any ideas or thoughts in the comments!!

Three Things That Need to Change

Sometimes when something just isn't working for you any longer - it's time to make a change.  A lot of times that is easier said than done.  Here are three things I know I need to change:

1)  Sleep
Every evening I tell myself I am going to go to bed earlier than usual.  And every night, that doesn't seem to happen.  Then, every morning I get up very early.  Every day, I am tired by the middle of the afternoon (at the latest)

2) The Junk I Consume
http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/view-image.php?image=43198&picture=french-fries
I know I need to eat better.  My cholesterol numbers show that.  The scale shows that.  My doctor has told me that.  Scripture says that our bodies are temples where the Holy Spirit resides.  Would I fill a temple with garbage?  Um.... no.

3)  Water
I need to increase the amount of water I drink.  By a lot.  Some days it gets to be very late in the afternoon and I realize I have had nothing to drink since my morning coffee. Seriously - how am I not thirsty ALL. THE. Time?

Is there something you know you need to change?
