Then it was a week and a half later...

Things were going pretty smoothly there for about a week or two.  I had a bit of a routine going and blog posts were flowing semi-regularly.  Then spring break arrived.  And well... nothing much got accomplished.

I'm not sure how I always fool myself into thinking it's going to be so much easier during school breaks and how I'm going to get oh-so-much done when everyone isn't running around in all different directions.  Because the truth is, if they aren't running off in different directions - they're here.  Which means I am continually allowing myself to get distracted by what they're doing right here in front of me.

Please don't think I'm blaming the offspring for my lack of productivity.  That's all on me.  Sometimes I think I have more than a touch of the ADD.  Or maybe I am just the Queen of Procrastination.  Or may I'm just a little lazy.  Whatever.  It is what it is...

It's not like I've been doing absolutely nothing for almost two weeks:

I'm working on some big orders for my Etsy shop.

I've been spending time with the grand. We're enjoying the warmer days by eating lunch on the back porch and playing outside whenever we can.

We also had more fun than we probably should have making Powerpuffs of ourselves.

Powerpuff Girl Me

Powerpuff Guy Grand baby

I have made a half-hearted attempt at Spring cleaning the kitchen.

We went to a ceremony where the female offspring received the academic award for her degree program.

So, as you can see - things are happening.  With more to come.  The Man of the House and I have a hiking date at Biltmore planned for this month.  Sunday officially marks 2 months until the male offspring graduates from high school.  Summer is coming.

Lots and lots to write about.  But, if you don't hear from me for awhile - it's probably because I got distracted by the grand baby making silly faces or something like that.

The Mystery of the Yoga Pants

I like to think that on those rare occasions I wear my workout pants in public, it just gives me an air of mystery.  Making people wonder...

You know, in that "Is she really on her way to/from the gym, or was she just too lazy to put on real clothes today?" sort of way.

I'll be honest with you.  The answer is probably the second guess.  But I am going to make every effort to put out a vibe that it's actually the first.  Especially if you see me at the grocery store or Target. (And if I haven't seen you in a while - that is going to be the day we run into each other: my "I'm in my yoga pants with minimal makeup on at Target" day. It's just a sure thing) And I hope you'll make every effort to pretend you actually believe I must be on my way to or from working out and just had to pop into the store to pick up some urgently needed item.

But whatever you do, please don't ask me about it.  (Oh, are you on your way to the gym?) Because that is going to force me to either
A) lie straight to your face
      -or-
B) confess my lackadaisical approach to dressing that day.  Out loud.  In public.

Either way - it's just not cool.  Just. Not. Cool. So don't ask.

I prefer to keep an air of mystery about the whole thing.  Super healthy, multitasker? Or comfortable in my laziness? Only me and my workout pants know for sure.

Somedays Just Need Sweatpants

Don't look at me like that.  You know just what I'm talking about.

Even if you won't admit it.  You still know.

Some days are just lazy days.  Bloaty days.  Nothing else feels like it fits right days.  Blah days.  Just want to be comfy days.  Sit on the couch and crochet or read days.

You know... sweatpants days.

Today, my friends, is one of those days.

Don't get me wrong.  I got up, fixed hair and makeup, and even put on proper clothing and made my way out this morning to Bible study and a quick run into the craft store.  But the second I got home the sweatpants went on.  And I have been completely content ever since that moment.

It's just one of those days...

I Got Lazy

I got lazy.

There, I said it.  It's out there now and there's no way to ignore it.  Not that I could before either.  The results of laziness are quite visible really.  Once you look.

I got lazy with my blogging.  Oh, sure - if you look at the numbers, it might look like I've done an admirable job at keeping up with the whole daily posting thing.  But the truth of the matter is that is only because I've had a few days of multiple posts.  Which covers over my lack of posting several days this week like a thin layer of under eye concealer.

I wish I could tell you that I was so lazy about blogging because I was so terribly busy keeping my house clean.  I wish I could tell you that.  But the pile of laundry sitting in my bedroom floor waiting to be taken down to the washer, the piles of folded laundry in the living room waiting to be put away, the layer of dust in the living room, the dirty dishes in the sink, and the wet towels on the bathroom floor would quickly and eagerly call me a liar if I tried to say it.  Yes, I was lazy with the household duties also.

So, you may now find yourself thinking that I must have been pre-occupied with some crochet project or another that I wanted to get completed.  Um... no.

I just somehow managed to let an entire week slip away without getting much accomplished.  I suppose it happens.  (Someone please tell me it happens and make me feel better!)
