Cruising with Ripe Peaches and Flat Abs

Each week Feeling Beachie gives us four statements with a blank for you to fill in on your own blogs.

Want to be featured as a Co-Host to the hop? Come up with four fill in’s of your own and email them to her at feelingbeachie@gmail.com. If she uses them, you get a nice little mention in that weeks hop! Please help her out and email some statements!  This week’s co-host is Jen from what would jen do (she came up with the last two statements)
And, since Feeling Beachie is sharing her blog hop with us - it's only far that we share and share alike! So, be sure to tweet, facebook, etc about the Follow Friday blog hop. And add the little linky tool there at the bottom to your own blog if you participate!

This week’s statements:

1.I have no desire ___
2.I love the smell of ___because____
3.I wish that my ___________ would magically_________
4.In one month I ____________

And now... without further ado (was there "ado" to start with?) - MY FILL-IS!

1.I have no desire to go on a cruise.  The idea of being out in the middle of the ocean with land no where in sight does not make me happy!  Have you not heard of the Titanic?  Yes, I know there are no ice burgs in the Caribbean.  Doesn't matter.

2.I love the smell of ripe peaches because it feels like summer

3.I wish that my abs and arms  would magically become tone and tight.

4.In one month I will probably be just as behind as I am now!

So Much For Multi-tasking

I can't believe it's been an entire week since I last posted!  I haven't had one creative blogging idea in my head for the past week.  Nope, not a single one.  When it comes to blog post concepts, my mind has been like a dry pool.

Just so no one thinks I have been a complete slug for the past 7 days - I have been coming up with crafty crochet ideas for my new Etsy shop.  Queen B's Busy Work is up and running, and will have new inventory on display soon.  My fingers have been furiously at work getting some start up merchandise ready.

But, apparently I have reached an age where I am only capable of being creative doing one thing at a time.  And this past week it was crocheting and the store.  Not blogging.  So much for multi-tasking!

Breaking Radio Silence

Perhaps you've been wondering where I am.  Missing my blog posts.  Checking every day to see if there is anything new posted.  Holding your breath, eagerly hoping that the silence has broken.  Crossing your fingers that there will be a new little gem to delight you.

Or maybe not...

Whether you notice my absence or not, I wish I had some fantastical story to share with you which would explain my silence.  But the truth of the matter is that every day I either:
a) haven't had time to get to the computer
b) haven't had a decent thought in my head to put into writing

And so...  one missed day of blogging somehow becomes two missed days.  Quickly turning into a week.  And next thing you know it's a whole new month and you haven't written anything in who-knows-how-long.

It's frightening how quickly time gets away from you.  Especially once you hit 40.  (Trust me, if you aren't there yet - it's going to take you completely by surprise.  You think time flies now - just wait)

Featuring... ME!!

YIPPEE!!  WOWZA!  (Yeh, I said "wowza".  Sue me.)

I received a most exciting email today!  My "The Endless To Be Read Pile" post is  is being added as a featured member post in the Books topic on Blogher.com today!!

I'm a featured blogger!!  Who ever would have thought it?

My little pointless ramblings might be featured somewhere, someday.  This is HUGE for me!  Oh sure - for some a simple feature post on a blogging website might not be that big of a deal.  Maybe for some published writers it's just a thing.  But for me, this is a big, big ego boost!  I feel like some one took notice and felt one of my posts was good enough to feature.

I love this feeling!!  Thanks blogher.com !!  :)

I Got Lazy

I got lazy.

There, I said it.  It's out there now and there's no way to ignore it.  Not that I could before either.  The results of laziness are quite visible really.  Once you look.

I got lazy with my blogging.  Oh, sure - if you look at the numbers, it might look like I've done an admirable job at keeping up with the whole daily posting thing.  But the truth of the matter is that is only because I've had a few days of multiple posts.  Which covers over my lack of posting several days this week like a thin layer of under eye concealer.

I wish I could tell you that I was so lazy about blogging because I was so terribly busy keeping my house clean.  I wish I could tell you that.  But the pile of laundry sitting in my bedroom floor waiting to be taken down to the washer, the piles of folded laundry in the living room waiting to be put away, the layer of dust in the living room, the dirty dishes in the sink, and the wet towels on the bathroom floor would quickly and eagerly call me a liar if I tried to say it.  Yes, I was lazy with the household duties also.

So, you may now find yourself thinking that I must have been pre-occupied with some crochet project or another that I wanted to get completed.  Um... no.

I just somehow managed to let an entire week slip away without getting much accomplished.  I suppose it happens.  (Someone please tell me it happens and make me feel better!)

Beginning to Wonder

This month I am participating in the January NaBloPoMo daily blogging challenge.  Seems easy enough.  Just commit to posting every day for a full month.  Simple, right?  Not so much. Today is the second day in a row I have realized in the evening that I still have a blog post to complete.  Which sends me rushing to the computer, frantically searching my brain for something to write about.

I always feel like I have a lot to say.  But now that I have made the choice to post daily for the month of January - I find myself at a loss for words.  And wondering if I will be able to manage a post every day of the month.  Suddenly January seems like a very long month.  Even looking at the daily writing prompt provided by NaBloPoMo doesn't seem to get the thought process flowing along.

As a result, I apologize for much of the seemingly pointless, endless rambling you may find yourself reading over the coming days and weeks.  Hopefully there will be at least a few gems in there somewhere.
