August Goals and Intentions

July was not a great month for goals.  I did not finish reading 3 books and most weeks I was doing good if I got in 2 walks.  I did make some progress on the yarn stash - but it's not exactly what I would call organized yet.  And those pillows for the living room still live on the to-do list to haunt me another day.

The Man of the House and I have been doing a pretty good job of healthier eating. We have allowed ourselves a cheat day every now and then (about once every couple of weeks), but mostly we've  been keeping it pretty clean.  So...  yeah us!!

My intention for August is  PRIORITIZE.  I don't know about you, but between my business, my family, maintaining the house/daily chores, and my personal interests/hobbies - I feel as if there are about 100 different things competing for my time, attention, and energy every day.  This means taking that now famous to-do list of mine and each day pulling out the one thing in each category (Home, Personal, and Work) that MUST get done that day.  Anything else which gets marked off the list is a bonus.  If it's not the Priority  item and it doesn't happen, it can wait until tomorrow.  Or the day after that... or the day after that.

GOALS FOR AUGUST:

1)  30 Day Water Challenge: I started the previously abandoned Water Challenge again on August 1.  We'll  talk more about that later this month.  I will say that so far, so good.

2)  Read 2 Books: Apparently my goal of 3 books from last month was a little over reaching.  As a result, I have pared it down to 2 books for August.

3)  Finish Organizing Yarn Stash:  I am determined to knock this out next week while I have my grandbaby-free week

4)  Walk 2 to 3 Times Per Week: Because if at first you don't succeed - try, try again.

July Intention and Goals

June went pretty well when it came to goals.  There's room for improvement, but with the exception of tackling that pesky yarn stash I can feel good about the progress I made.

My intention for July is Better Health.  The Man of the House and I have plans to get back into a healthier eating routine, starting with a good old fashioned detox.  Eliminating most (all?) processed foods, no added sugars, no gluten, little to no dairy.  We've also been trying to get out for a good walk a few evenings a week.  I've been better about drinking more water recently, but I could do better.

My goals for July are:

Read 3 Books:  I'm a little behind on my personal reading goal for the year.  Time to kick it into gear!  I also have about 3 holds at the library which are all about to become available at the same time.  So... yeh.

Organize Yarn Stash:  Because I am going to get that mess under control before this summer is over!

Make New Throw Pillows for Living Room:  This has been on my To Do list for what seems like forever.  I'm tired of it haunting me.  I need to stop procrastinating and take care of it once and for all.

Walk 2 to 3 Times Per Week:  See above re: monthly intention!

June Goals and Intentions

May was a mixed bag.  I had a lot of trouble sticking to my intention of Focus.  It seemed as if something was always coming up to distract me or throw a wrench into the plans.

I did slightly better with my goals.  I didn't get to bed or wake up as early as 7 had hoped.  But it was earlier than I had been doing; so it's all good,  I mailed out graduation announcements for the male offspring.  Made some time for fun with the Man of the House.  Didn't do as much reading as I would have liked.  But I did finish two books and start a third.

My intention for this month is Explore.  This means being open to new experiences.  Saying yes to opportunities that may scare me a little.  Stepping outside my comfort zone.

It also means exploring my faith.  Digging deeper.  Relying less on devotionals and  what others may believe to listen to my own heart and the small voice of the Spirit as I read Scripture each day.

My goals for June:

1)  Read more:  When I find myself with few free moments during the day, I have fallen into a habit of checking on my Etsy shop or browsing Pinterest (which usually ends up lasting longer than intended).  This month my goal is to reach first for whatever book I am reading instead.

2)  Spend time outside each day:  (if it's not raining) This might be going out on the porch while I have my morning quiet time, sitting outside to read or crochet, going for a hike or or taking a short walk.  It doesn't matter what shape it takes - the point is a little fresh air and sunshine,

3)  Organize yarn stash:  I want to get this organized by color and select some for a stash buster sale.  This will go a long way toward getting my office back under control.

What are your goals for the month of June?
