The Pen is Mighter Than...

Hey y'all... can I be honest about something.  I have a pen problem.  I love pens.  Seriously... adore them.  I have more pens than any reasonable person should probably own.

But I may be putting all those other pens aside and forgetting them in favor of just one pen.

This one...

The Man of the House made it for me.  Yes, you read that correct - he made it for me!

He received a lathe for Christmas and now has a new hobby. He has also turned some pretty rosewood pen and pencil sets.  And he recently took a class on one Saturday where he learned how to turn bowls.  He hasn't made another one yet, but the one he did that day is beautiful!

But.  This.  Pen.

Y'all, how pretty is this??

I loved my pen so much, I asked him to make one for my sister's birthday.  (Which I can now show you since her birthday is has passed...)

Another gorgeous creation by my gorgeous, talented husband.

I Got Nuthin' !

I'm in a bit of a dry spell when it comes to my writing. A bit?  That might be an understatement.  Rather than a dry spell, it might be closer to a drought!

I thought I was coming out of the slump last week when I got two ideas in one day.  But those two thoughts seemed to have been the full extent of that particular creative burst.

*sigh*

So... what's a blogger to do when she can't think of anything to blog about?

Well, go looking for inspiration - of course!  And while I'm out searching for writing prompts and other sources to get the creative juices going again...

I could use some help!!

Please, please, please head down to che comments and ask me a question.  Or suggest a writing prompt.  Or.... something. (please keep it clean!!)  You just might see your idea in a future post.

Tell me what you got.  Because dear readers - I got a big fat nuthin'!

3:30 am

3:30 am.  Wide awake.  Sort of.  Ok, not really.  Sort of half awake.  Not sleepy enough to go back to dreamland.  Not awake enough to get up and do anything productive.

This seems to be becoming a regular thing for me.  It's not always 3:30.  Sometimes it's 2:30.  Or 4:30.  The exact time isn't really that important.  What ever the time, there I am in the wee hours of the morning.  Awake enough that it does not qualify as rest.  Sleepy enough not to qualify as awake.

The brain churns at 3:30 am.  I feel pretty sure I am at my most creative in those pre-dawn hours.  There in the dark waits ideas for blog posts, writing journal entries, short stories, and perhaps even a first novel.  I'm a literary genius!  It's not just writing either.  The projects for my Etsy shop, home improvement and decorating, even gift ideas.  It all flows like the wine at a bacchanalia.

Sadly, they never last.  For, at 3:30 in the morning, my mind is still asleep enough that it can't hold onto the brilliance it creates during that time.  Sleep comes, and washes it all away.  The sun rises and my mind strains trying to recapture even one of the ideas it had in the dark.  But they remain elusive, like forgotten dreams.

Today Is Tuesday

Tuesday night.  Just about bed time for me.  And I have been looking at this stupid empty blank box for a good part of the day.  Trying to find inspiration for something to put into it.  Something interesting.  Something funny.  Something informative.  Something entertaining.  Just... something.

I found nothing.

Not one spark of creativity.  A big chunk of writer's block.  Not a single, teeny tiny thing to fill the space.

Maybe tomorrow...
