I listened to the Man of the House and the female offspring leave for a very early morning run, and decided the cure for what ails me was a strong cup of coffee and some Jesus time. Which meant dragging myself out of bed to the Keurig and then the couch.
However, no sooner had I opened a devotional and taken a sip of wake-up juice, when the grand baby made an appearance. Apparently I was not the only one who couldn't sleep this morning. So much for a quiet time with a little voice insisting that he had something to tell me, he was hungry, he wanted cartoons, and he was not sleepy.
By 6 AM when the grand's mommy and the Man if the House returned, I was headachey, tired, frustrated, and already feeling a bit overwhelmed by the day so far. But I was determined not to let this get the best of me. Just because the morning had started off a little out of whack was not going to set the tone for the whole day!
One of those mornings when you keep repeating this to yourself.. |
Even when the Male Offspring had the minor emergency of his one and only belt breaking, or when my sinus headache started making me feel a little nauseous - I tried to keep a good attitude, find a reasonable solution (borrowing a belt from the Man and eating some breakfast - in case you were curious), and look at the bright side.
And there were some bright sides. Like... sneaking a few extra morning kisses from the Man before he left for work, seeing the beautiful morning sky after dropping the male offspring off at the bus, and some grand baby snuggles.
So, here's to a positive attitude! Have a great Wednesday, y'all...
Sorry your day started out rough...
ReplyDeleteBut yay for you for turning it around.
Hope the rest of the week is cozy and healthy!
Hope that headache is gone by now. The Armor of God study we're doing at church teaches this very thing....being thankful in ALL circumstances. You're right there already! ☺
